The Dancing Bear
Inspired by an Inuit story of transformation,
this threshold work explores movement,
joy, and presence through carved form.
Western Red Cedar • Ontario
Origin
The work draws inspiration from an Inuit story
of a bear transformed through dance. Rather than
illustrating a single moment, the carving responds
to the spirit of the story through movement and gesture.
Carved from western red cedar, the composition
developed gradually through drawing, carving,
and refinement.
